Confusion arises, barren days imposing themselves on this man’s soul,
Amidst the utter dearth of reasons to cause a smile;
As loneliness pervades every thought, each moment of the day,
Creating feelings he’s lesser than whole.
The sunshiny center of his happiness is away,
Fears tumultuously charge forth she won’t return;
And past pains, sad times, disappointments from days gone by,
Bring memories of misfortune he once did learn.
There’s no hope, spake his inner self,
Yet, in the face of reality he knew,
These days with the Nirvana who created happiness,
Remain yet in their beginnings … in no manner through.
Yet, the Goddess of 10,000 candles isn’t present to show her light,
To uncover peace, true love, … soft, eternal serenity … giving,
Reason to surge upward, onward, always finding the more and more,
Of that sweetness, that spice, she adds to living.
Until, at the eon’s ending, when his soul could withstand not more,
Deprivation of that enchanting smile, lilting tone,
The brilliance grew, as if a flame cascading, the skies turned so bright,
An aurora borealis was born on that day that she came home.
He held her close, he kissed her mouth, she walked again into his very soul,
And, as though she’d been gone not even a moment,
His world returned to being filled and alive,
For only when near her is there no torment.
